The Berger AP-400 and AP-516 are non-penetrating snow guards designed for taller standing seam metal roof profiles, including common snap-lock and mechanical-lock systems. The guard clamps directly to the seam using custom-milled set screws, requiring no penetration through the roof panel and no adhesives or sealants.

- Designed for taller 1½” to 2″ seams
- Suitable for compatible snap-lock and mechanical-lock profiles
- AP-400: ⅜” (.400″) slot width
- AP-516: ½” (.516″) slot width
- Both options suit panels at least 1 1/2″ high, including snap lock panels.

The AP-400 snow guards are a high quality item IMO (and what I needed) and I would have rated it 5 stars if Berger, the manufacturer, had been able to answer my questions about their installation. But I sent and email to Customer Care which went unanswered for 9 days and then when I called I received only “I guess”, “I would think” and “I don’t see why not” answers before the gentleman disclosed that ‘Customer Care’ is now essentially just for taking orders for their products. Meanwhile John Stortz & Son was a great place to order these; excellent price and prompt well-packaged shipping. Thanks!
