I ordered this to remove old varnish from the rosettes on a front door. It arrived extremely quickly and was exactly what I was looking for. The scraper went through some serious abuse and looks brand new. The quality and build on this were great.

I ordered this, together with the square end and round end scrapers to smooth and remove drips of epoxy on a homebuyer boat. Absolutely critical for the job, perfectly suited …. I couldn’t be happier with the quality and performance of these fine tools.

Excellent tools, the tools arrived quickly, are very sharp and have remained sharp longer than I expected. I am a professional painting contractor and I will definitely recommend Stortz scrapers and will order again.

The Oval Paint Scraper – 143-D works great for curved moldings and trims. It easily removes the paint, primer and even old hardened caulking. The curved edge allows you to use the scraper on many different size trims. The pointed end also works great for hard to reach nooks. The shipping was fast and the scrapers were packaged well. I will recommend them to other tradesmen.

The only thing that could make it better would be a cover for the sharp edges to protect the edge and my fingers.

I bought this scraper along with most of the other scrapers on the website. The profile on this one is perfect. I have an extensive collection of scrapers ranging from Japanese, Swiss, Sweedish, German, American and Chinese-made scrapers. Aside from the Chinese scrapers, Stortz & Son’s sit at the bottom of the price range. On the usability and function scale though, they sit near the top; the edges are easy to sharpen and stay sharp. Cheap, and extremely functional. Win-win. The only things I’d like to see are a longer throat and a textured grip. But they’re great as is.

Just the shape to get where few shapes can reach. Expect to pass this down to the grand children.
