I dont use this scraper for paint projects. Its incredible but it is one of the best tools I have used for carving concavities and flutes in hardwood. Ive taken it against hickory and have only gotten the slightest smallest chipping with full strength applied at 90°. Great great tool. it even holds up to hammer blows on the shaft for driving like a chisel
