If you’ve landed on this page there is a good chance you want to know more about the company you are buying from and not have it be just another website. Here are the reasons why you should trust us with your tool purchases.

  • We pick up the phone – No voicemail (unless we are on the other line) and we’ll call you back as soon as humanly possible. You will talk to a person when you deal with Stortz. There’s even a chance we’ll call you to make sure you ordered exactly what you need for your job.
  • InventoryWe are a stocking distributor – If you see the item on our website, there is a 90% chance we have it in stock. This leads to reliability of when you get your product. If we don’t have a product, we’ll notify you immediately. When you place an order, you are trusting us to come through in a timely matter and we welcome the opportunity to show you how important each order is to us.
  • We know the products – Any company can add products to their website but when you have a problem, they can’t help you. We have an understanding of what we sell and have a network that expands to people to call on when we don’t know the answers.
  • We back the products – The sale doesn’t end once money is exchanged. We want to help you when a tool isn’t working exactly the way you think it should. If we didn’t think it was a good product, we wouldn’t be selling it which gives confidence to the consumer when purchasing.

Who Are You Buying From?

Since our About Us page hasn’t been updated since 1853 (kidding), it would make some sense to give you an idea of who you’re actually buying from.

jpJeff Stortz – Began working with Stortz in 2012. After finishing Pitt with a degree in Finance, Jeff spent time traveling around the United States and then moved to New Zealand for a year. When he returned, he moved from the Kiwi life to the working world with Stortz tools. He answers your phone calls and makes sure packages are shipped to the proper destination. His role has/will continue to grow as Stortz moves forward.

tomstortzalpsTom Stortz – Started working at Stortz tools in 2005 after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Finance. He helped move the Stortz business into the modern era with technical expertise and increased networking. He’s always eager to help out with problems and find solutions.  His main goal is to make sure that when you purchase a product from Stortz, you get what you need for a fair price.

jcJohn Stortz – President of the company since 1983 after his father passed away. He learned how to be a blacksmith during his early years with the company and will still undertake some custom requests for specialty tools. He’s watched his sons develop a web presence and set up a future that will hopefully last for another generation.
