CASE STUDY: New Horizons Remodeling

New Horizons Remodeling purchased a Mini-Light Rollforming machine earlier this year in order to add to their ability to roll on-site standing seam panels. 6 months later, we checked in to see how they were making out with their machine. Here is what they said...

  • Q. About how many jobs have you used the machine on?

"15+ jobs (copper, steel and aluminum)"

  • Q: You mentioned that you feel the machine has probably already paid for itself - anything you can share about how you came to that conclusion would be helpful.

"The availability to fabricate our own panels. We cut out the middle man, which in turns allows us to be more competitive and we have been able to do more jobs since we don't have to wait for the panels to be formed."

  • Q: You mentioned the 36-square standing seam project. How did having your own machine benefit you on a project like this?

"Having the machine allowed us to reduce our waste factor. Also, if we make a mistake, we can run a new panel on the spot, and we can custom fabricate panels if we need to."

  • Q. You mentioned that portability is probably your favorite thing about the machine. Why is that important on the types of jobs you do? Can you think of a specific job where the machine's size or portability made a big difference?

"On many of our jobs we are limited on space, and because the machine is so portable, it adjusts to what the job site allows us to do."

Projects Created with the Schlebach Mini Light

Portability and Predictability

The Schlebach Mini Light Roll Former gives roofing contractors the flexibility to produce standing seam panels directly on the jobsite, even when working in tight spaces where larger roll forming machines are impractical. Its compact, portable design makes it ideal for residential projects with limited access or staging areas. By owning their own roll former, contractors also gain greater control over their project schedules, eliminating the need to rely on outside suppliers for panel production and delivery. Instead of waiting for pre-formed panels to arrive, contractors can manufacture exactly what they need, when they need it, helping reduce delays, minimize material waste, and keep projects moving efficiently. The result is greater independence, more predictable scheduling, and improved profitability on every job.

Paying For Itself: The Entire Customer Q&A

One of our early adopters of the Schlebach Mini Light Roll forming machine answers some questions about how he uses this machine and how it has improved work flow in his business.

1. About how many jobs have you used the machine on?

15+ jobs (copper, steel and aluminum)

2. You mentioned the 36-square standing seam project. How did having your own machine benefit you on a project like this?

Having the machine allows us to reduce our waste factor. Also if we make a mistake, we can run a new panel on the spot, and we can custom fabricate panels if we need to.

3. You mentioned that portability is probably your favorite thing about the machine. Why is that important on the types of jobs you do? Can you think of a specific job where the machine's size or portability made a big difference?

On many of our jobs we are limited on space, and because the machine is so portable, it adjusts to what the job site allows us to do.

4. Before buying the machine, how were you getting the panels that you now produce with it? Did you ever order factory-made panels?

We would order from local suppliers.

5. You mentioned that you feel the machine has probably already paid for itself - anything you can share about how you came to that conclusion would be helpful.

The availability to fabricate our own panels. We cut out the middle man, which in turns allows us to be more competitive, and we have been able to do more jobs since we don't have to wait for the panels to be formed.

6. Have you noticed any difference in scheduling or lead times now that you can produce these panels yourself?

Yes because we don't have to wait on fabrication.

7. Before purchasing the machine, what were your biggest concerns or hesitations?

We weren't sure if it was going to meet our needs.

8. Now that you've owned and used it for a while, what would you tell another roofing contractor who was considering buying one?

Don't buy it because you will take our potential work (just kidding)! It's a quality machine, easy to use, and it's very practical for different applications.
